Wenjiang runs high-end rehabilitation center with 2.3-billion-yuan investment
Taikang Community Shu Garden, the first high-end rehabilitation center in Southwest China, opened in Wenjiang district of Chengdu on Jan 18.

Invested by Taikang Group with 2.3 billion yuan ($358.84 million), the rehabilitation center has adopted an international mode of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC).
The seniors can receive medical and care services after their retirement in the center and live as if in a self-governing community. The center has the best equipment and environment including gardens, culture corners and a hospital, and serves 1,800 elder households.

"The establishment of Taikang Community Shu Garden marks a step forward for the medical and health industry in Wenjiang district," said Yang Jun, deputy secretary-general of Chengdu Municipal Committee of the CPC.
The district has been striving to integrate the medical and medicine industries with the health industry to upgrade the industrial structure and provide better services for local residents.
Cheng Sheng, CEO of Taikang Group, said that the company would continue to strengthen cooperation with Wenjiang district to help it become a health industry hub in China.
